Upgrading the Hideout plays a crucial role throughout Naoe and Yasuke’s journey. To fully enhance and personalize this essential base, players must gather a significant amount of crafting materials scattered across the land.
This guide outlines every available Hideout upgrade, helping maximize the potential of the ninja base.
Methods for Upgrading the Hideout
There are two primary methods to initiate Hideout upgrades. The first involves entering the central room—often where Tomiko can be found—and interacting with the map or blueprints located in the back corner. This brings up the prompt to begin construction or improvement.
Alternatively, players can hold a specific button from anywhere on their lot to access the same build menu.
Once in “Build Mode,” it’s possible to construct new facilities or add decorative elements. However, construction requires adequate space, which is indicated by the grid layout of the Hideout lot.
To upgrade individual buildings, hovering over the structure and pressing the action button brings up a menu with options to move, upgrade, or customize the building. For structures outside the main room, an additional option may appear allowing the building to be dismantled.
Required Resources
Performing upgrades requires Hideout Resources: Crops, Wood, and Minerals, as well as Mon. These materials are commonly found in treasure chests, castles, camps, and other lootable areas. Some Port Vendors also sell them. Each construction or upgrade consumes a specific amount of resources, so regular resupply is essential for progress.
Main Room Upgrades
Forge
Building and enhancing the Forge should be a priority. By upgrading the Forge to Level 2 early on, players unlock the ability to forge engravings. Additionally, this room enables the collection of Crafting Materials, essential for upgrading gear.

Naoe uses Hemp Cloth, Ironsand, and Silk, while Yasuke relies on Leather, Tamahagane, and Oakwood. Gold is also a shared resource used for upgrading Legendary gear.

Keep in mind that construction is limited by the available space on the lot.
