This season in Fortnite brings an exciting twist to storytelling – the game’s first-ever Star Wars themed chapter introduces hidden quests that players must discover for themselves. Unlike previous seasons where objectives were clearly outlined, these missions require some exploration to uncover.
The map now features large circles indicating general areas where quests can be found, but the game doesn’t specify what exactly needs to be done. This makes tracking progress more challenging, but also more rewarding when you finally complete these secret missions.
Currently there are five hidden story quests available, each offering unique challenges and worthwhile rewards. Let’s break them all down so you can complete them efficiently.

Locating Fortnite’s Star Wars Story Missions
Destroy Objects Using an X-Wing
Your first mission involves teaming up with Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. You’ll find him at the new Resistance Base located in the northwest section of the map where Whiffy Warf used to be. After speaking with Poe at the marked location, you’ll need to destroy 25 objects using an X-Wing’s lasers.
While there are X-Wings at the Resistance Base, they’re all damaged and unusable. You’ll need to locate a functional X-Wing elsewhere on the island to complete this objective. Once you’ve destroyed enough objects, return to Poe to claim your reward – a powerful weapon. This quest can be repeated in subsequent matches for additional rewards.
Deliver a Jedi Padawan Lightsaber to General Grievous
For this dark side mission, you’ll need to locate General Grievous who can be found between Seaport City and Masked Meadows, just north of the old black market outpost. Speaking with him initiates the quest to retrieve a Padawan lightsaber.
The easiest way to obtain one is by finding a Jedi training hologram and completing the training to receive a lightsaber. Alternatively, you can loot one from another player, but it must specifically be a Padawan lightsaber – Grievous won’t accept red Sith blades. After delivering the saber, you’ll be rewarded with a mythic marksman rifle. While the XP is a one-time reward, you can continue trading lightsabers for Grievous’ rifle in future matches.
Repair a Damaged TIE Fighter
South of Flooded Frogs, you’ll find an incapacitated TIE Fighter lying on its side near the road. Approach the crash site and interact with the terminal marked with a quest icon to begin the repair process.
You’ll need to collect three fuel barrels scattered nearby (they’ll be clearly marked) and then interact with the TIE Fighter itself to complete the repairs. Once fixed, you’ll have a fully operational TIE Fighter at your disposal to fly around the island.
Collect Stormtrooper Data Logs
This mission takes you to Vader Samurai’s Solitude in the southwest corner of the map. Four stormtrooper data logs are hidden throughout this location, and their positions will appear on your mini-map as you explore the area.
The logs are all located relatively close to each other within the compound, making this one of the quicker missions to complete once you reach the right location.
Retrieve Rebel Data Logs
The final current mission involves tracking down four Rebel data logs that are more widely scattered across the island than the stormtrooper versions. You’ll need to visit:
- An area northwest of Brutal Boxcars
- Near the broken TIE Fighter south of Flooded Frogs
- Inside the Resistance Base
- At a road intersection near Burd Station between Shiny Shafts and the Resistance Base
These missions represent just the first wave of Star Wars story content. Expect additional quests to be introduced weekly as the season progresses, continuing the galactic narrative and offering new challenges for players to discover.
By completing these hidden missions, you’ll not only progress through the season’s story but also earn valuable rewards to enhance your Fortnite experience. The developers have clearly put extra effort into making these quests feel like authentic Star Wars adventures within the battle royale format.
Remember to check back regularly as new missions are added throughout the season – the Star Wars story in Fortnite is just beginning!
