Personalizing Your Racer: How to Customize Your Character in Forza Horizon 5

While the high-performance vehicles may dominate the spotlight in Forza Horizon 5, the character controlling these magnificent machines deserves attention too. Ensuring your digital persona represents you appropriately can significantly enhance your overall gaming experience.

When you first begin your journey through this racing adventure, you’ll create your initial character, but this is merely the starting point. As you progress through the expansive open-world environment, you’ll discover numerous cosmetic options to unlock, providing ample opportunity to refresh your character’s appearance throughout your gameplay.

Where to Access Character Customization Options

It’s important to note that character customization isn’t available universally across the map in Forza Horizon 5. You’ll need to visit specific locations to access these personalization features. Two locations allow character customization: The Horizon Festival and player houses.

The Horizon Festival becomes available almost immediately after starting the game, while player houses are distributed throughout the map and require purchase over time. Notably, your initial player residence, Casa Bella, can be acquired at no cost early in your gameplay experience after completing the first Adventure Chapter.

Customization Process and Available Options

Whether you select the Horizon Festival or one of your player houses doesn’t impact the customization options—they remain identical at both locations. Simply choose the most convenient spot when you wish to update your character. You can either drive manually or use fast travel to reach your desired location, then select to enter the premises.

After entering your chosen location, navigate to the “My Festival” tab and select “Customize Character.” This menu allows you to modify your character’s gender, identity, and voice, as well as equip them with any clothing items or complete outfits you’ve unlocked through gameplay. Some cosmetic options require progression milestones or wheel spins to unlock, while others can be purchased using in-game credits. Among the many options available, the chicken suit stands out as a particularly entertaining choice for players looking to make a statement on the racetrack.
