In Days Gone, an expansive open-world game, key locations are often quite distant from one another. Fast Travel helps bridge these gaps, but several specific conditions must be fulfilled before it becomes available. Here is a guide explaining how to unlock Fast Travel in Days Gone.
Unlocking Fast Travel Points
The first step involves discovering NERO Checkpoints, Ambush Camps, or friendly camps to establish Fast Travel destinations.
Unlocking a Fast Travel point at a NERO Checkpoint requires opening the NERO Mobile Medical Unit located at the site. To create a Fast Travel point at an Ambush Camp, the player must completely eliminate the enemies there. For friendly camps, reaching Trust Level 1 is necessary. Achieving this will also unlock a storage locker at NERO Checkpoints and Ambush Camps, while lockers at friendly camps are immediately accessible through the camp’s merchant.

Clearing Infestations
Another important step involves removing infestations. These are highlighted on the map after passing nearby them and pose significant threats.
When selecting a destination from Deacon’s current location, every section of the road between the starting and ending points must be cleared of infestations. This requirement exists because Days Gone treats Fast Travel as if Deacon physically rides his motorcycle across the terrain, rather than instantaneously teleporting. Thus, ensuring the route is clear becomes essential.
Maintaining and Fueling the Bike
Deacon’s motorcycle must be in good condition and have sufficient fuel to simulate the journey during Fast Travel.
Gas stations are marked on the map with gas icons. Additionally, fuel cans can be found near NERO Sites or scattered throughout the environment. Tow trucks are particularly good locations to search for fuel supplies.
Building Trust with Camps
In order to Fast Travel to friendly camps, it is necessary to reach at least Trust Level 1. Progressing through the main storyline should naturally lead to achieving this level of trust.
