HWMonitor Update: Embracing Zen 6 Medusa Point, Ryzen 9850X3D, and Arrow Lake Refresh

The world of hardware monitoring is buzzing with a fresh update to HWMonitor, the well-regarded tool from CPUID. This latest release brings with it support for a slew of upcoming processors from both AMD and Intel, ensuring users have access to accurate data for the newest tech on the horizon.

New Inclusions in HWMonitor Version 1.61

The new version of HWMonitor has broadened its capabilities to encompass several anticipated CPUs. Notably, it now accommodates Intel’s Arrow Lake Refresh lineup. Reports suggest that this includes the Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus. These updates follow the integration of Intel Panther Lake CPUs, which were added to the database two months prior.

AMD’s Expanding Horizon with HWMonitor

For AMD enthusiasts, the update is equally exciting. Three generations of AMD CPUs have found their place in HWMonitor’s supported list. Among them is the recently released Ryzen 5 7500X3D, a budget-friendly Zen 4-based chip featuring a 6-core/12-thread setup and a 96 MB L3 cache. The Zen 5-based Ryzen 7 9850X3D, with its 400 MHz higher boost clock compared to the 9800X3D, is also included and eagerly awaited at CES 2026.

Moreover, the software has introduced “preliminary” support for AMD’s Medusa Point, the mobile CPUs crafted on the Zen 6 architecture, with expected release later in 2026. These updates position HWMonitor as a forward-thinking tool, ready to cater to the cutting-edge of processor developments. This aligns with recent developments where Medusa Point was incorporated into GCC 16 for preliminary optimizations.
