LA Thieves Reign Supreme at CDL Major 3

The Los Angeles Thieves, representing the esteemed 100 Thieves esports organization, have clinched the championship title at the 2025 Call of Duty League (CDL) Major 3, held in Boca Raton, Florida.

Unstoppable Run Culminates in Grand Final Sweep

Hosted by the Miami Heretics at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, the tournament witnessed a commanding performance from the LA Thieves in the grand final against Vancouver Surge. Their decisive victory marks them as the second team this season to claim a coveted Major title.

LA Thieves’ Path to Championship Glory

Entering Major 3 as the top-seeded team, the LA Thieves began their campaign with a decisive victory over the Carolina Royal Ravens. They continued their strong momentum by overpowering the hometown Miami Heretics, securing their spot in the winner’s bracket final.

Meanwhile, Vancouver Surge had been steadily gaining momentum throughout the season, rising from the mid-tier ranks to establish themselves as a formidable force among the league’s elite teams. In one of the most intense matches of the event, LA Thieves narrowly defeated Vancouver with a hard-fought 3-2 victory, earning their place in their second grand final appearance of 2025.

Vancouver Surge subsequently battled their way past Toronto Ultra to set up a highly anticipated rematch against LA Thieves in the grand final. Toronto faced a significant challenge, competing without Ben ‘Beans’ McMellon, who was unable to participate due to visa complications, necessitating a last-minute roster adjustment.

However, the grand final showcased a flawless performance from the LA Thieves. Their precise strategies and seamless teamwork resulted in a dominant 4-0 sweep, earning them their first championship title of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 era and bringing an end to the recent dominant streak of Atlanta FaZe.

Attention Turns to Major 4 Qualifiers

With the conclusion of Major 3, all twelve CDL franchises are now setting their sights on the Major 4 qualifiers, scheduled to take place from May 2nd to May 18th, 2025. These crucial qualifiers will determine the seeding for the season’s final Major event.

For many teams, a strong performance at Major 4 could be pivotal. A successful showing might be the key to securing a coveted spot at the prestigious Championship Weekend, the pinnacle of the Call of Duty esports calendar.
