After an illustrious 11-year career, the renowned League of Legends player Hung ‘Karsa’ Hau-hsuan has announced his retirement from competitive play. Known for his strategic brilliance and leadership on the battlefield, Karsa leaves behind a legacy that has shaped the esports scene. His decision was revealed in a heartfelt video where he expressed his gratitude and hinted at a new journey ahead.
Saying Farewell to a Legend
Karsa began his career with Flash Wolves back in 2015, marking the beginning of what he described as the ‘happiest period’ of his professional life. “Time has really flown by,” he reminisced. “Sometimes when I close my eyes, I can still clearly see the moment I first came to try out for Flash Wolves.” After his time with Flash Wolves, Karsa’s journey took him to RNG, CTBC Flying Oysters, and ultimately PSG Talon. During this journey, he celebrated major victories, such as triumphs in the LPL Spring and Summer 2018 and the Mid-Season Invitational 2018.
Challenges and Triumphs
Despite his successes, Karsa faced challenges along the way. While playing for PSG Talon, he struggled to perform as he had hoped, leading to the difficult decision to step down. The pressures of competition even led him to seek therapy, but with the guidance of PSG Talon’s former coach, Cheng “CorGi” Pin-Lun, Karsa found his rhythm again. However, by 2025, he felt it was time to retire from the competitive scene. Karsa shared, “Over these 11 years, there were peaks and there were lows. There were many painful moments, and also many moments of joy.”
A New Chapter Begins
The community has expressed their sadness over Karsa’s departure, celebrating him as one of the greatest junglers in the history of League of Legends. Fans have shared heartfelt tributes, with one Reddit user stating, “Goodbye, Taiwan’s strongest jungler.” Although Karsa has hinted at a new identity beyond his gaming career, he plans to engage more with his community through streaming, leaving the door open for future endeavors within the League of Legends universe.
