Vietnam’s gaming community is bidding farewell to a legendary figure in the world of League of Legends. Đỗ ‘Levi’ Duy Khánh, a celebrated professional player, has announced his retirement from competitive gaming. His career, spanning a decade, is marked by significant achievements and a deep impact on the Vietnamese esports scene.
Levi, a dominant force in the Vietnamese esports arena, has officially retired after ten years of competitive play.
Reflecting on a Stellar Career
Levi shared his decision to retire in a heartfelt video on his birthday, highlighting his illustrious journey as a pro gamer. Throughout his career, he clinched 10 domestic VCS titles, secured a gold medal at the 31st SEA Games, and participated in several MSI and Worlds events. Despite these achievements, Levi expressed a lingering regret for not leading a Vietnamese team to significant success on the international stage. “I’ve always wanted to see a VCS team reach at least the top 8 at Worlds,” he revealed.
Levi also mentioned health struggles, including stomach issues and problems with his right hand, as factors influencing his decision. More importantly, he expressed a desire to spend more time with his family and potentially start his own.
From Rising Star to Esports Icon
Levi’s esports journey began in 2015, rising through the ranks to become one of Vietnam’s premier junglers with the Gigabyte Marines. His distinctive playstyle attracted attention from top-tier teams globally, leading to stints with 100 Thieves in North America and JDG in the LPL. Though his time in China was brief, Levi continued to dominate the Vietnamese scene with GAM Esports, a team he played for during the last six years of his career. Despite domestic success, international victories remained elusive for GAM.
The Road Ahead for GAM Esports
As Levi transitions to content creation and streaming, GAM Esports faces the challenge of filling his pivotal role. With only three players signed for the upcoming season, the team must also secure a new support to prepare for 2026. The search for a new jungler begins as GAM aims to rebuild and strive for success beyond their borders.
