North American esports powerhouse M80 has emerged victorious at the R6 Munich Major 2025, marking a significant milestone with their triumph over Team Falcons in the Grand Final. This victory represents M80’s first international Rainbow Six Siege X esports trophy since their entry into the competitive scene in late 2022.
M80’s Road To Victory
M80’s journey to success began with a strong performance in the Swiss stage, securing wins over formidable opponents like Six Invitational 2025 champions FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, and Team Secret. This solid track record guaranteed their place in the playoffs early on. However, in the upper bracket semi-finals, M80 faced a setback as FaZe Clan exacted revenge by defeating them 2-0, pushing M80 into the lower bracket. In a thrilling Swiss stage rematch, M80 overcame Team Secret with a 2-1 victory, advancing further in the competition. Wildcard initially took the lead in the following match, but M80’s resilient defense strategies on Kafe Dostoyevsky and Skyscraper allowed them to achieve a reverse sweep.
As the competition intensified, M80 met FaZe Clan once again in the lower bracket finals. FaZe initially led with a win on Chalet, but M80 responded fiercely, claiming victories on Skyscraper and Clubhouse to secure their spot in the Grand Final.
Knocking Down The Falcons
In the Grand Final, M80 started off with a narrow 8-7 win on Nighthaven Labs. Team Falcons struck back in the second game, winning 7-4 on Skyscraper. However, M80 regained their lead on Chalet, thanks to their effective offensive strategies. Riding this momentum, M80 sealed their triumph on Consulate, clinching a 7-5 win and a 3-1 series victory. M80 becomes the third North American team to lift a Major trophy, joining DarkZero Esports and Beastcoast, previous winners in 2022 and 2024, respectively. With this significant victory, M80 has also secured a spot in the upcoming Six Invitational 2026, set to take place next February in Paris, France.
