Madrid Set to Host 2025 LEC Summer Finals This September

The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2025 Summer Finals will be held in Madrid, Spain from September 26th to 28th. This high-stakes tournament will bring together the best teams from the EMEA region as they battle for crucial Worlds qualification spots, following the successful LEC Roadtrip hosted by Movistar KOI. The recent road trip, also held in Spain, saw GIANTX achieve a significant victory over G2.

LEC Roadtrip Success Points to Growing Spanish Esports Scene

The announcement of the Summer Finals location comes shortly after the LEC Roadtrip in Madrid, where GIANTX secured a historic win over G2 in a three-map series, though their perfect run was prevented by a loss to event hosts KOI.

The LEC Roadtrip serves as a pilot initiative for the 2025 season, featuring select organizations hosting Group Stage games during the Spring Split. Both Movistar KOI, led by Ibai Llanos, and French organization Karmine Corp were chosen to participate in this program.

Spain’s iteration of the LEC Roadtrip reportedly drew over 10,000 spectators to the Madrid Arena across two days. The event’s success has prompted increased interest in hosting more esports events in the country.

As the Summer Finals announcement generates excitement, teams are currently focused on the ongoing competition in Berlin as they compete for spots in the LEC Spring Split Playoffs.
