Death Stranding 2 intensifies the challenge of navigating rugged terrains familiar from its predecessor. Hideo Kojima wants you to use vehicles for those hefty deliveries to continue this epic journey and ease the burden on Sam. Running away is always an option, but car transport is essential for efficiency and convenience in the game.
Unlocking the Tri-Cruiser
After completing Order 6, the first vehicle, Tri-Cruiser, will unlock for you. Then, you will have a conversation with Deadman, followed by a holographic interaction with Fragile. After you speak to him, you will have to speak to Alex who is at the Former Geophysicists Research Lab where you will be able to have Tri-Cruiser fabricated.
To make a Tri-Cruiser, players have to go to the garage, select “Fabricate a Vehicle”, and make sure that the materials are available. Adding colors and decals for customization is one way to give it some consideration. If they find themselves lacking resources, they can always recycle the vehicle.

Materials Needed for Tri-Cruiser:
- 220 Metals.
- 160 Ceramics.
- 10 Chemicals.
Unlocking the Pickup Off-Roader
As soon as you finish Order 13, you will get to obtain the Pickup Off-Roader. A good pickup off-roader for transporting bigger quantities of cargo and an equally useful tri-cruiser for speedy deliveries during the early-game phase. The vehicle is built to handle tough situations better; though not as speedy as some, it can tackle rocks with ease.

Utility of the Tri-Cruiser and Pickup Off-Roader
Bikes and trucks are useful for effective delivery in Death Stranding 2. This tri-cruiser is fast and easy to handle and ideal for smaller time-critical deliveries. Unlike the Pickup Off-Roader, it is a heavy-duty vehicle capable of transporting large payloads and fighting on the highway.
Users may equip the Pickup Off-Roader with a Sticky Cannon, Heavy Machine Gun, or Chiral Cannon, although only two can be mounted at once. You can attach additional accessories, such as spare batteries, using these six slots.
The Tri-Cruiser has the same attachment options but will lose side cargo attachment if those are used. It can climb mountains by using the front wheels as blades at all steep places.
Managing Vehicle Limits
Knowing the weight and capacity limits aids in effective vehicle use in Death Stranding 2. If you exceed these limits and become stranded, it can be an inconvenient situation. Thus, a proper management of your cargo is essential to avoid being stuck.
Sam’s entry depends on capacity; excess weight affects speed. Players must balance vehicle performance and the weight of cargo load.
