Neowiz’s Next Game Promises to Exceed Expectations, Says Lies of P Director

The excitement around Neowiz’s next game is growing as Choi Ji-won, the director of Lies of P, promises fans that the upcoming project will deliver an unparalleled gaming experience. After a successful run with the game’s DLC, Overture, the team is now focused on their next big venture.

Promises of a Thrilling Sequel

Following their victory at the Golden Joystick awards for best expansion, Choi Ji-won expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to delivering an exceptional follow-up. He highlighted that the development of Lies of P’s DLC Overture was treated not just as an expansion but almost akin to crafting a new game. Looking forward, Ji-won assures, “you can expect the most fun that we can achieve within the game.”

The Lies of P team dropped the Overture DLC unexpectedly during the Summer Game Fest, introducing an array of new content including locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons. The update also controversially provided two easier difficulty levels to widen accessibility. At that time, it was revealed that Lies of P had topped 3 million copies sold.

Continued Success and Future Plans

Both Lies of P and its DLC, Overture, were well-received, each earning a score of 8/10. Although the expansion follows familiar paths, it enriches the core game significantly. The DLC has since been patched to reduce the difficulty of some monsters and to balance stats during initial playthroughs, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Though Choi Ji-won did not disclose specifics about the future game, it is widely believed that a Lies of P sequel is on the horizon. Back in November 2023, it was confirmed that developing the sequel and DLC were top priorities, with the team dedicating substantial effort to these projects.
