Exciting developments are on the horizon for Dota 2 fans as Valve unveils the new patch 7.40, introducing the game’s latest hero, Largo. This update promises to bring a fresh dynamic to the beloved ensemble of characters.
Meet Largo: The Bardmonk Leader
Largo steps into the spotlight as the shamanic head of the bardmonk order. In a world teeming with rogues, wizards, and knights, Largo fills the unique role of the bard, but with a twist. Unlike traditional bards, he customizes each song to suit the moment, whether it’s boosting his allies’ morale or enhancing their speed in the heat of battle. As a frog, his prehensile tongue offers a variety of unexpected tricks.
Unique Abilities and Skills
Largo’s skill set includes the intriguing Catchy Lick, which allows him to target, lick, and pull an individual a short distance, applying a basic dispel. Allies benefit by being removed from dangerous situations, while enemies suffer damage. Dispelling grants Largo a brief health regeneration. Additionally, he can deploy froglings to stomp, causing damage and ministuns, and can reduce ally mana costs with his Croak of Genius.
Rhythm and Strategy with Amphibian Rhapsody
His ultimate ability, Amphibian Rhapsody, turns the battlefield into a rhythmic challenge. Largo becomes disarmed, switching to three song abilities, each requiring precise timing to be effective. Successful strums stack Groovin’, enhancing his armor and reducing mana costs, while missed beats result in losing stacks. These stacks linger briefly after the song ends, offering strategic depth.
As always, the comprehensive patch notes are too extensive for Steam, but they can be accessed on the Dota 2 website.
