Nintendo Store App Tracks Your Switch, 3DS, and Wii U Gameplay by the Hour

Curious about how much time you’ve spent playing Donkey Kong Bananza this summer? The freshly launched Nintendo Store app has the answer. This app is your gateway to a world of Nintendo, allowing you to browse and purchase Switch games, Nintendo merchandise, and much more.

With worldwide availability, the Nintendo Store app offers features like downloading demos, acquiring amiibo, and purchasing consoles or retro controllers. Yet, its most intriguing feature lies hidden within your profile.

Discover Your Play Activity

By navigating to your profile’s Play Activity section, you can uncover detailed statistics about your gaming sessions on Switch 1, Switch 2, 3DS, and Wii U over recent years. By selecting a game, you can view previously hidden data, such as playtime by specific days.

Take, for instance, my Animal Crossing: New Horizons save file. Although my playtime is vaguely noted as “200 hours or more,” I can see my first play date (March 3, 2020) and last session (July 8, 2020). Over those dates, I played more than 106 days, with sessions often exceeding five hours, including a memorable 6-hour 15-minute session in early April.

Track and Shop

Your play history can be sorted by longest played, first played date, and by system, allowing a nostalgic journey through past gaming experiences. My top Wii U game? Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

Of course, the app also serves as a shopping tool. If you’re eager to explore it, the Nintendo Store is accessible on the App Store and Google Play. This app is not just a store; it’s a time capsule for your gaming adventures.
