Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Editions: What’s Coming for Your Favorite Games?

The Nintendo Switch 2 is gearing up to deliver a wave of enhanced editions for both new and classic games. Following the company’s major announcements earlier this year, several standout titles are set to receive special “Switch 2 Edition” upgrades. These versions promise to bring better graphics, smoother performance, and new features tailored to the upgraded hardware.

Among the most anticipated are upcoming releases such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A, both of which will debut with Switch 2 enhancements right out of the gate. Meanwhile, established favorites like Super Mario Party Jamboree are also getting the upgrade treatment, with new features and modes designed to take advantage of the new console’s capabilities.

Owners of the original Switch versions will have the option to purchase upgrades to the enhanced editions, though Nintendo has not yet revealed specific pricing for all titles.

Free Upgrades and Special Features for Nintendo Fans

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will receive free access to the Switch 2 Editions, provided they already own the original games. These upgraded versions will introduce smoother frame rates, faster loading times, and improved visuals.

An exclusive feature for both Zelda titles is Zelda Notes, which offers guidance to help players uncover hidden locations. Princess Zelda’s voice will provide fresh commentary throughout these adventures, adding a new layer to the experience.

Additionally, some existing Switch games will receive free updates for Switch 2 compatibility, including performance improvements and support for new features like GameShare. The extent of these updates will vary depending on the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom

Both legendary adventures are getting a significant boost on Switch 2. Players can expect enhanced graphics, smoother gameplay, and the exclusive Zelda Notes feature. Princess Zelda herself will guide players through some of the most elusive spots in the game. Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Edition arrives on June 5 for $70, with a $10 upgrade for existing owners. Tears of the Kingdom will also release on June 5 for $80, with a $10 upgrade option.
