Nvidia has taken center stage at CES with the announcement of DLSS 4.5, a significant upgrade aimed at enhancing the visual quality of RTX graphics cards. This update not only improves image fidelity but also expands frame generation abilities for the upcoming RTX 50-series cards.
DLSS 4.5: Enhancing Visual Fidelity
The latest improvements in DLSS 4.5 are driven by the second generation of Nvidia’s Transformer model, which now boasts a substantially larger dataset and five times the computing power. This results in better handling of challenging scenes, minimizing artifacts such as ghosting and shimmering, and refining anti-aliasing.
Users can experience these enhancements by downloading the GeForce 591.74 driver, which is currently available. The Nvidia app’s ability to auto-update older DLSS versions means you can immediately try DLSS 4.5 on over 400 supported titles. Remember to opt into the new Nvidia app beta via Settings > About post-installation to access DLSS 4.5.

Specific games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are highlighted for noticeable improvements. However, there’s keen interest in seeing if Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will benefit from these upgrades before diving into its recent update.
Exclusive Upgrades for RTX 50-Series
In an exciting development for GeForce RTX 50-series users, Nvidia introduces an expansion of Multi Frame Generation, set to launch this spring. This 6x Multi Frame Generation capability allows for the creation of five intermediate frames per traditionally rendered frame, elevating framerates beyond the previous 4x limit. This update supports high refresh rate monitors, including the newly announced 360Hz ultrawides unveiled at CES.
Users can manually set frame generation levels from 2x to 6x, or let the graphics card decide dynamically. By setting a target framerate, like 240fps for a 240Hz monitor, the card will adjust frame generation based on scene complexity, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience.

Previously, in March 2025, the third-party tool Lossless Scaling introduced an adaptive frame generation mode, highlighting the growing interest in such features. Nvidia’s recognition of this demand is a welcome development.
More Announcements from CES 2026
Beyond DLSS 4.5, Nvidia’s CES 2026 announcements include confirmations for DLSS 4 in titles such as 007 First Light, Phantom Blade Zero, and Pragmata. Upgrades to the RTX Remix modding tool, a new lineup of Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar monitors with impressive motion clarity, and the introduction of GeForce Now apps for Linux and Amazon Fire TV were also revealed.
