Riot Games has unintentionally unveiled the release date for its upcoming fighting game, 2XKO. The news spread quickly after a trailer briefly available on YouTube revealed the launch date. Fans of the fighting game community (FGC) eagerly anticipate the game’s official debut on multiple platforms early next year.
Riot Leaks 2XKO Launch Date
On December 30th, keen observers noticed a trailer on 2XKO’s YouTube channel that announced the game would officially launch on January 20th, 2026. Although the trailer is now private, it confirmed the full release of the free-to-play fighter on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This isn’t a complete surprise, as Riot had previously hinted at a January 2026 launch, but the video clarified the exact date. This isn’t the first premature reveal; Blitzcrank’s addition to the roster was also released unexpectedly through website artwork.
Upcoming Fighters and Esports Plans
When 2XKO launches in January, players can expect a roster that includes Ahri, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Teemo, Vi, Warwick, and Yasuo. The game will feature a free-to-play model with purchasable content such as a Battle Pass and various cosmetics. Riot is also gearing up for an active esports scene in 2026, with 2XKO set to be part of various third-party competitions. Notably, it will make appearances at Frosty Faustings XVIII and Evo events in both Japan and Las Vegas.
