PlayStation 5 Adds Apple Pay for Seamless Purchases

After years of waiting, PlayStation 5 users can now make purchases directly through Apple Pay without any extra steps. This new integration comes as part of the latest system update, finally bringing native support for one of the world’s most widely used digital wallets.

Previously, gamers had to rely on the PlayStation App or the console’s browser to use Apple Pay, but the process is now much smoother. During checkout, players can simply select Apple Pay, scan the displayed QR code with their iPhone or iPad, and complete the transaction in seconds.

Why This Is a Big Deal for Gamers

With over 90% market dominance in the U.S., Apple Pay is the go-to digital wallet for millions. Its addition to the PS5 storefront means faster, more secure transactions—no need to manually enter credit card details every time. Plus, those using an Apple Card get an extra perk with 2% cashback on every purchase.

While not every region supports Apple Pay yet, Sony has provided a full list of available countries on its official website. Alongside PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App, this update gives players even more flexibility in how they buy games and add-ons.

Support for PS4 is expected to roll out in the future, but for now, PS5 owners can enjoy the convenience of quick and easy payments right from their console.
