Pokémon Pokopia Trailer Unveils Animal Crossing-Style Gameplay Featuring Mysterious Pale Pikachu, Mossy Snorlax, and Professor Tangrowth

Excitement is building as the extended trailer for Pokémon Pokopia unveils its charming blend of Pokémon and life simulation, reminiscent of Animal Crossing. Fans are treated to an intriguing sneak peek at brand new Pokémon designs.

A Journey with Professor Tangrowth

Your adventure in Pokémon Pokopia starts with the help of an original character, Professor Tangrowth. This intriguing character, dressed in a distinct outfit, guides you through the main quests. Despite appearances, this isn’t a new regional form but a unique-colored Tangrowth.

Adding to the mystery are variants like a ghostly pale Pikachu and a moss-covered Snorlax with a flower sprouting from its head. The trailer strategically hints at these new designs, leaving room for speculation without confirming them as new regional forms.

On the updated Pokémon Pokopia website, these enigmatic creatures are named, yet they seem to echo their traditional forms. For instance, “Mosslax” is described as follows: “Moss has grown all over this Snorlax, and a flower sways atop its head. How long has it been asleep?”

Within the ruins of an ancient town, Professor Tangrowth and other Pokémon soon engage your character in quests to reshape the world’s landscape. Using Pokémon abilities, you’ll create new environments to attract more Pokémon and even embark on more complex projects like building homes and amenities.

Transformative Adventures and Multiplayer Fun

Pokémon Pokopia offers an array of transformative experiences. Copying abilities like Squirtle’s Water Gun to water plants becomes second nature. Unique transformations allow you to travel swiftly as Lapra for surfing or Dragonite for flying.

The game also supports multiplayer for up to four players, with GameShare letting you team up with friends who don’t own the game on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Recently, Nintendo announced the release date of Pokémon Pokopia as March 5, 2026, and surprised fans by confirming it as the first Nintendo-published game to be physically released via the Switch 2 Game-Key card.
