PUBG Mobile has revealed a new collaboration with the rising K-pop group BABYMONSTER in celebration of the game’s seventh anniversary. The limited-time event brings themed content and unique gameplay experiences to players across the Erangel and Rondo maps and is set to run through May 6th.

The collaboration allows players to unlock exclusive in-game rewards inspired by the group. Interactive features have also been added, such as photo booths placed at the center of each featured map area. These booths enable fans to take virtual photos with their favorite BABYMONSTER members. Players can also enjoy the group’s music in-game by using a BABYMONSTER-branded cassette player.
Focus on Entertainment, Not Esports
This event appears to be centered entirely around in-game entertainment and cosmetic features. No esports-related updates or content tied to the collaboration have been revealed at this time.
BABYMONSTER, managed by YG Entertainment and formed in 2023, is composed of seven members: Ahyeon, Rami, and Rora from South Korea; Ruka and Asa from Japan; and Pharita and Chiquita from Thailand. The group’s diverse background and growing international presence align with PUBG Mobile’s global player base.
Continued Trend of K-pop and Gaming Crossovers
In recent years, numerous collaborations between the gaming and K-pop industries have emerged. In 2022, a previous partnership between PUBG Mobile and BLACKPINK led to the release of the song Ready For Love. The following year, New Jeans—now rebranded as NJZ—performed Gods, the official anthem for the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, during the finals held in South Korea.
This year has already seen similar collaborations, including a second team-up between Overwatch 2 and LE SSERAFIM, which introduced new cosmetic items. Artists such as KISS OF LIFE and THE BOYZ have also participated in esports-related projects, further highlighting the growing connection between the music and gaming industries.
Tencent’s Vision for the Crossover
Vincent Wang, who serves as the Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing at Tencent Games, shared his thoughts on the partnership. He expressed enthusiasm about bringing innovative and engaging experiences to players as part of the seventh-anniversary celebrations. Wang stated that the collaboration aims to deliver the energy and vibrant style of BABYMONSTER to the virtual battlegrounds, calling the union a seamless blend of music and gaming culture.
