Red Dead Redemption 2’s Monumental Success
The sequel has sold over 79 million units, making it the “best-selling title of the last seven years in the U.S. based on dollar sales,” and elevating the series’ total sales to 106 million. This positions Red Dead Redemption 2 alongside the greats, surpassing other popular games released in the past few decades, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Hogwarts Legacy, and Elden Ring. Only Minecraft, GTA 5, and Wii Sports have sold more, with 350 million, 220 million, and 82.9 million copies, respectively.
