The much-awaited Harbor rework is set to launch with VALORANT patch 11.10 on November 11th. Riot Games has overhauled his abilities, introducing new elements to make Harbor a formidable Controller in the game’s current lineup.
Harbor’s Revamped Abilities
The changes kick off with Harbor’s High Tide, which now requires purchase instead of being a signature ability. Storm Surge takes the place of Cascade, providing an explosive whirlpool that nearsights and blinds enemies. Players can now deploy Cove like Omen’s smokes, with the added ability of activating the shield separately. Harbor’s ultimate, Reckoning, now progresses forward akin to Cascade, nearsighting and slowing foes in its wake.
Community’s Reaction to Harbor Rework
The community has embraced these adjustments, applauding Harbor’s newfound aggressive playstyle. “Very interesting and great rework, tho I will miss his old ult,” shared former 100 Thieves coach Yury ‘frenya’ Elkin. Another user highlighted both benefits and drawbacks, noting the strong stun and wide-area ultimate but lamenting the lack of information provided by the ult compared to its predecessor.
As these changes take hold, there’s speculation that Harbor and Viper compositions might see a resurgence, with expectations of an increased pick rate in competitive scenes. However, with numerous balance tweaks introduced in patch 11.08, it’s anyone’s guess how professional teams will strategize with Harbor moving forward.
