Indonesian esports powerhouse Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) is making a remarkable comeback to the Apex Legends scene after a six-year hiatus. Their return is marked by assembling a formidable team to compete in the prestigious Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan. With a newly signed roster, they aim to reclaim their status in the competitive gaming world.
RRQ’s New Roster and Strategic Moves
RRQ has strategically signed the Las Vegas Inferno’s roster, a team that recently secured the runner-up position in the ALGS 2025 Last Chance Qualifier for APAC South. The lineup features Komkrit ‘Noelsang’ Malaihom, Supakorn ‘mosu’ Kaewpang, and Panupong ‘sato_kohai’ Prasertphongkun as the captain. The team will benefit from the expertise of coach Jasper ‘yanlys’ Xiang, a seasoned figure in the ALGS APAC South scene, and analyst Alexis ‘zona.’
This move signifies RRQ’s ambition to make a significant impact in the ALGS Championship. The organization last participated in Apex Legends back in 2019 but had disbanded shortly after a brief stint.
RRQ Heads to the ALGS Championship
The ALGS Championship is eagerly awaited by fans as it culminates the Year 5 esports circuit. The tournament will feature 40 top teams from various regions, battling for a share of a $2 million prize pool. Held in Sapporo, Japan, the event will proceed through three stages: Group Stage, Bracket Stage, and Finals, culminating on January 18th, 2026. The final stage will adopt a Match Point format, where the first team to surpass the 50-point mark and secure a first-place finish will be crowned the ALGS Year 5 Champion.
