RLCS Open 5 Recap: Victories Across All Regions Set Stage for Raleigh Major

The fifth installment of the 2025 Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Open circuit has wrapped up, delivering intense regional showdowns and setting the tone for the upcoming Raleigh Major. With prize pools, RLCS points, and qualification slots on the line, each region brought its best to the pitch.

Overview of Open 5 and What’s at Stake

The RLCS Open 5 used a familiar competitive structure across all regions, consistent with the format from previous seasons. Teams battled in 3v3 matches for a share of the prize pool, valuable RLCS points, and a chance to qualify for the RLCS Raleigh Major and the sixth Open event, which is already underway in some regions.

Europe: Dignitas Outpaces Rivals

Dignitas rose to the top in Europe by defeating Karmine Corp in the Playoff finals, earning $15,000 and 18 RLCS points. This win pushes Dignitas into third place overall, trailing only Team Vitality and Karmine Corp in the standings.

For Karmine Corp, this marks a second straight final appearance following their Open 4 victory earlier in May. A massive 899 teams participated in this European qualifier, showcasing the region’s deep talent pool.

North America: NRG Remains Unstoppable

North America saw NRG secure back-to-back wins by taking Open 5 following their previous victory in Open 4. This performance solidifies NRG’s place at the top of the regional leaderboard with a total of 36 RLCS points.

With Open 6 already in motion, NRG continues to dominate, holding a perfect 3-0 record in the current stage.

Oceania: Wildcard Claims Another Crown

In the Oceania region, Wildcard came out on top once again, earning $9,000 and another 18 RLCS points. This continues their streak of success and guarantees their presence at the Raleigh Major.

The region will send two representatives to the Major, scheduled from June 26th to 29th, and Wildcard’s consistent performance makes them a strong contender.

South America: FURIA and Team Secret Clash Again

South America witnessed a rematch between FURIA and Team Secret, this time with FURIA coming out on top in the Grand Final. The two teams are neck-and-neck in the regional rankings, each holding 30 RLCS points after consecutive finals appearances.

FURIA added $9,000 to their winnings and strengthened their bid for a Major slot.

MENA: Falcons Fly to Victory

In the Middle East and North Africa, nearly 200 teams participated in Open 5. Team Falcons dominated the bracket and swept ROC Esports in the Grand Final. After also winning Open 4, this result locks in their spot at the Raleigh Major.

As Open 6 begins in the region, teams like Twisted Minds, Al Qadsiah, and ROC Esports are battling for the second qualifying slot.

APAC: Virtus.pro Secures Another Win

The Asia-Pacific region recorded the joint-lowest number of teams, with 75 entries. Virtus.pro, after narrowly overcoming Movistar KOI in the quarter-finals, faced them again in the final and convincingly won 4-1.

With two Open victories under their belt, Virtus.pro now holds 36 RLCS points and is on track to secure the only Major spot available in this region.

Sub-Saharan Africa: FUT Esports Sweeps the Bracket

Like APAC, Sub-Saharan Africa also saw 75 teams compete. FUT Esports made quick work of the opposition, going undefeated throughout both the group stage and Playoffs. They didn’t drop a single game while taking down teams like 77Blocks and Cristobal Colon.

What’s Next on the RLCS Roadmap?

As Open 6 progresses in several regions, teams are striving for strong finishes to qualify for the prestigious RLCS Raleigh Major in June.

Beyond that, the spotlight will shift to the RLCS 2025 World Championship, scheduled for September 9–14 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The global event will feature 20 teams—16 from regional standings and four from final qualifier events.

Stay tuned as the RLCS season heats up and the battle for global dominance in Rocket League continues.
