Save and Trade Your Favourite Weapons Across Characters in Borderlands 4

While gaming in Borderlands 4, it becomes quite natural to obtain different types of weapons and equipment. But some weapons tend to become favourites because of their unique capabilities, and the player might hesitate to sell them despite limited inventory space. Fortunately, Borderlands 4 lets you store these special items in a safe place, allowing you to have them later without cluttering your inventory.

How to Safely Store Your Weapons and Gear

Declutter your inventory and keep your favourite items by using the Bank Vault, which has a piggy bank icon. You’ll find Bank Vaults at every major Faction Town, including The Launchpad, Carcadia, Belton’s Bore and The Lockaway. When you use this machine, you are able to store up to 25 items, which can include special weapons in case you die. 

Remember, space within the Bank Vault is limited. You may require a few SDU tokens to expand your storage space. You can also label items in the Vault with a colour marker, mark them as a favourite, or declare them as junk.

Angie’s pro tip: You can send items directly to the Bank from your Backpack in Kairos. To quickly send items to your Bank Vault, choose an item and hold Square or RMB. Use the Filter option and select Bank, then press L3 or V.

Transferring Weapons Between Characters

The Bank Vault not only stores gear but also lets you transfer it between characters. When you deposit items and mark them as “Bank”, you can switch characters and retrieve those items. It’s worth noting that your character can only deposit items if they have upgraded slots to do so. If a character has less capacity, he can withdraw items. However, he can’t deposit unless he is within his limits.

Bear in mind, items have level restrictions. At a low level, you can’t directly use a high-level object, such as a level 16 throwing knife, if it’s below your level. You do not notice this limitation because loot often matches your level while playing.
