A chilling new teaser for Halloween 2025 has been released by the Skywind team, showcasing the eerie environments of Vvardenfell. This nearly four-minute video introduces viewers to the spooky inhabitants like skeletons, ghosts, and Daedra, along with the sinister followers of the Daedric princes.
Voice Cast and Teaser Details
The teaser is brought to life by a talented group of voice actors, including Dom “Hentus” Tromans, Harry Frost, Anna Pluta, Kit Cambridge, James Cattle, Sara Dunham, CommanderXander, MoonWorks, Ryan Cooper, Argyle, and LacunaFish. It’s important to note that while their voices enhance the teaser, these lines are exclusive to this release and won’t appear in the final game.
The Evolution of Skywind
Skywind, a fan-driven project bringing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind into the Skyrim engine, has been in development longer than Skyrim itself. It began as Morroblivion, a port to the Oblivion engine, and found new life with the release of the Creation Kit in 2012. Since then, it has grown into an ambitious project to recreate every game asset, including textures, meshes, and sounds.
The development team has been actively sharing progress, with a gameplay demo showcased in May and a significant stream during September’s Creation Mod Con, revealing that every NPC now has a dedicated voice actor. This advancement promises deeper immersion with richer ambient audio featuring fuller voice lines and complex background chatter. Additionally, new and expanded housing designs aim to give every NPC a place to call home.
Current Progress and Future Prospects
While the completion status of Skywind remains uncertain, the team is calling for experienced volunteers in various fields such as 3D clothing modeling, audio mastering, SFX, VFX QA, and animation. There’s also room for volunteers without modding experience to contribute by assisting with file cutting. Interested individuals can apply through the project’s official website.
Though Skywind’s release date is unknown, its sister project, Skyblivion, is tentatively pegged for a 2025 release, pending any potential delays.
The Skywind project continues to evolve, with immersive new features and a dedicated team working tirelessly to bring Morrowind to a new generation.
