Grivel shared the news of his return on LinkedIn, expressing his excitement about rejoining the Ubisoft Toronto team as the Game Director for Splinter Cell Remake. Before his brief leave, Grivel spent over a decade at Ubisoft, contributing to various high-profile games such as Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and Far Cry 5.

A Legacy Revived

After his departure from Ubisoft, Grivel worked at Ridgeline Games on Battlefield 6’s campaign mode until the studio was unexpectedly closed in early 2024. Now back with Ubisoft, Grivel is set to breathe new life into the Splinter Cell remake, a title initially announced in late 2021. Fans can look forward to a refreshed story that aims to be “more authentic and believable” for today’s audience.
