SHIFT UP, the developer behind the acclaimed game Stellar Blade, has entered into a significant publishing agreement with Tencent’s Level Infinite for their new project, codenamed Project Spirits. This upcoming game is set to be a cross-platform experience utilizing Unreal Engine 5, targeting PC, consoles, and mobile devices. Building on Past Success
This partnership marks the second major collaboration between Level Infinite and SHIFT UP, following the global success of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE. Both companies are aiming to surpass their previous achievements with Project Spirits. Reports suggest that Level Infinite and SHIFT UP have strengthened their strategic partnership to include publishing and joint development.
The union between SHIFT UP and Tencent’s Level Infinite aims to deliver a groundbreaking experience with Project Spirits, building on the achievements of their past collaborations.
A Legacy of Excellence
SHIFT UP first made waves globally with their mobile game GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, but it was Stellar Blade that truly catapulted the South Korean studio to fame. Recently, SHIFT UP disclosed plans for a multiplatform release of the Stellar Blade sequel, expanding beyond the first installment’s availability, which was limited to PlayStation 5 and PC by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The original game was highly praised, receiving a 9/10 score.
No butts about it, Stellar Blade is a marvelous feast for the eyes and a technically impressive action RPG. Those who find the hyper-sexualized Eve off-putting will find little redemption in finding some modesty for the playable heroine, but at the same time, those already accustomed to the years following Bayonetta’s release and 2Booty memes will find the character designs enjoyable, to say the least. Stellar Blade is a fantastic action title and one PlayStation exclusive you’ll have to play after the kids go to bed.
