Theorycraft Games is preparing to conclude live-service support for its popular MOBA battle royale game, SUPERVIVE. As the gaming landscape shifts, Theorycraft Games has decided to sunset SUPERVIVE early next year, marking a significant change for fans and players alike.
The Countdown to February 26th, 2026
SUPERVIVE’s Executive Producer, Jessica Nam, confirmed that the game will officially end its live-service on February 26th, 2026. During a recent Fireside Chat, Nam reflected on the challenges faced by the game, stating that despite numerous downloads, player retention has been a significant issue. SUPERVIVE has been described as an “ambitious” and “expensive” project, making it unsustainable for the studio. Patch 2.04 will roll out shortly, introducing a ‘Prisma Party’ mode, balance adjustments, and a free cosmetic bundle, but this is expected to be the final update before the service concludes.
SUPERVIVE’s Journey and Player Engagement
Initially launched globally on July 24th, 2025, after a successful early access on Steam, SUPERVIVE peaked with nearly 48,000 players. However, the player base has dwindled significantly, with recent numbers dipping to approximately 400 at peak times. Despite its initial promise, the game has not expanded to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S consoles. Originating as Project Loki, SUPERVIVE was Theorycraft Games’ debut offering, blending battle royale chaos with MOBA tactics in a free-to-play format.
Competitive Scene and Future Prospects
SUPERVIVE has made notable entries into the esports arena, hosting competitive events like the Creator Cup invitational. This event, held in November 2024, attracted over 84,000 peak viewers. Although the game continued to foster competitions in 2025, including the Saturday Night SUPERVIVE series, it never established a formal competitive circuit. With the game’s live-service nearing its end, its future in esports remains in question.
