North American esports powerhouse Team Liquid has officially added Ganbat Yuuji Ulziidelger to their League of Legends lineup. The young jungler joins as the sixth member, sharing responsibilities with veteran player Um UmTi Sung-hyeon. His contract, confirmed via the Global Contract Database (GCD), runs through November 2026.
From Challenger League to the LCS Stage
Yuuji built his reputation in the North American Challengers League (NACL), initially competing under FlyQuest’s academy teams before transitioning to collegiate esports with DarkZero, partnered with Maryville University. His standout performances earned him back-to-back MVP titles and a championship win—a feat no other NACL player has achieved.
Hailing from Mongolia, Yuuji’s journey to professional play began with his brother’s influence. Despite high ping challenges, he climbed to Diamond 1 on the NA server and later reached Challenger on EUW, as noted by Liquid Media’s Nicholas Ray.
A Strategic Addition for Team Liquid
Following their early exit in the First Stand playoffs, Team Liquid explored roster upgrades, evaluating emerging NA talent. Reports from Sheep Esports indicate Yuuji had already been practicing with the team before his official signing.
Head Coach Jake Spawn Tiberi expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, stating that Yuuji brings fresh perspectives and confidence to the squad. He highlighted the jungler’s recent success in the NACL and believes he will make an immediate impact.
Flexibility for Fearless Draft
Yuuji’s diverse champion pool and adaptive playstyle make him a valuable asset, especially with Fearless Draft now standard in major competitions. With Team Liquid secured for playoffs and tied at the top of their group, fans may see his debut in their upcoming match against Cloud9 this Saturday.
