Team Liquid emerged victorious in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 16, asserting their dominance with an impressive 4-0 win against Aurora Gaming in the Grand Finals. The competition, which spanned from August 22nd to October 26th, 2025, saw Team Liquid competing against seven other formidable teams. Their triumph earned them the largest portion of a $150,000 prize pool, a testament to their determination and skill.

The Journey to Victory

Team Liquid entered the tournament as a strong contender, thanks to their stellar performance in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Mid Season Cup during the Esports World Cup. Despite their reputation, their journey in Season 16 was fraught with challenges. Initially, they placed third in the Regular Season with a 9-5 record, trailing behind ONIC Philippines and Aurora Gaming. In the Playoffs, they bounced back by defeating Team Falcons 3-1 and ONIC 3-0, although they faced a setback in the Upper Bracket Final, losing to Aurora Gaming 1-3. Their determination shone through in the Lower Bracket Finals, where they defeated TNC Pro Team 4-1, ultimately clinching a decisive 4-0 victory in the Grand Finals against Aurora Gaming. Both Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming have now secured their spots in the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, set for January 2026.

Viewership for MPL Philippines Season 16

The latest season of MPL Philippines captivated audiences, achieving remarkable viewership numbers. Reports suggest that the Grand Finals match reached a peak viewership of 1.53 million, with an average of over 178,000 viewers tuning in during the event. The total watched hours exceeded 28.5 million over nearly 160 hours of airtime. Season 16 now ranks as the third-highest in peak viewership for the league, trailing only Seasons 14 and 15. For 2025, it stands as the sixth most popular MLBB esports event, with MPL Indonesia Season 15 holding the top spot with a peak viewership of 4.1 million.
