Team Spirit is shaking up its Counter-Strike 2 roster following a year of ups and downs in the competitive scene. As the dust settles on the StarLadder Budapest Major, changes are afoot within the team to prepare for future challenges.
Roster Changes Announced
Reports suggest that Team Spirit has decided to part ways with Leonid ‘chopper’ Vishnyakov and Ivan ‘zweih’ Gogin, removing them from the team’s starting lineup with immediate effect. At the same time, Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotia is set to return to his original role within the squad after taking some personal time off. The organization also revealed that Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobyev will step up as the new in-game leader (IGL), ready to guide the team into the next season.
Team Spirit’s 2025 Season
The past year has been a mixed bag for Team Spirit in the Counter-Strike 2 arena. Despite a commendable third to fourth place finish at the StarLadder Budapest Major and a prize of $80,000 (~£63,000), the team faced challenges, including a 0–2 loss in the semifinals. Successes were notable, with victories at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025, PGL Astana 2025, and the BLAST Bounty Fall 2025. However, mid-table finishes and early exits in other S-Tier events like the Esports World Cup 2025 and Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2025 highlighted inconsistencies.
Looking Ahead
As the competitive Counter-Strike 2 calendar moves forward into 2026, Team Spirit aims to capitalize on its refreshed lineup. With magixx at the helm and zont1x rejoining the ranks, the organization is focused on improving consistency and building upon the successes of the past year across international stages. The upcoming season presents an opportunity for this new formation to make a significant impact.
