Team Spirit Soars in August VRS Rankings

Team Spirit has jumped to the second place in the August 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS) after being ranked third. This growth signals a promising presence in upcoming competitions such as the Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu and the Thunderpick World Championship in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2).

Recent Achievements and Leaderboard Movements

Much of their success in the rise had been down to their recent success at IEM Cologne 2025, where they beat MOUZ in the Grand Final. Even though Team Spirit has risen up the ranks, Team Vitality remains at first and is the best CS2 team in the world following the MOUZ semi-final loss. Elsewhere, another notable shift in the top ten saw NAVI rise three spots to fifth, thanks to their appearance in the IEM Cologne Playoffs.  FURIA also moved from 9th to 6th which is pretty good.

Among the standout performances was TYLOO from China, who made an impressive leap from 20th to 10th place, thanks to their victory at FISSURE Playground 1.

Setbacks for Team Liquid and Others

On the other hand, Team Liquid went down nine places to 26th due to a number of losses as the team is dangerously close to dropping out of the top 32. Aurora Gaming and HEROIC also dropped to 11th and 18th places, respectively. 

August VRS: Deciding Factors for Upcoming Invitations

The upcoming big events IEM Chengdu and Thunderpick World Championship will witness the evaluation of the create of the teams by the Prestigious August VRS. However, the tournament organizers are yet to confirm the teams that have accepted their invites.

IEM Chengdu has two representative teams from Europe, America, and Asia, Other than that, there are 10 teams from the world ranking that will take part also. Likewise, the Thunderpick World Championship reserved four slots based on global rankings.
