Fans eagerly awaiting the release of the retro-inspired game Terminator 2D: No Fate will have to hold on a bit longer. This game, which artfully combines scenes from the iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day with fresh scenarios and a variety of possible endings, has faced yet another delay. The new release date is now set for December 12, 2025.
Game Delays and New Launch Date
In Terminator 2D: No Fate, players step into the shoes of Sarah Connor and the T-800, battling to thwart Skynet’s plans before humanity is wiped out. The game is slated for release on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, as well as last-gen consoles. Initially intended to launch on September 5, the release was postponed to the end of October, then November 26, and now has been deferred once more.
The publisher, Reef Entertainment, previously cited “ongoing global trade and tariff changes” as reasons for shifting away from the original October 31 release. Although the “physical components” necessary for the game’s editions have “finally arrived,” further time is needed to prepare these editions. This delay affects both physical and digital versions of the game, as confirmed by Reef.
A Message to the Fans
The team expressed gratitude towards the community, acknowledging their patience during this prolonged wait for Terminator 2D: No Fate. “The physical components for all editions have now finally arrived, following the ongoing delays that pushed us off our previous schedules. However, we now have to assemble the physical editions, which we need some time to do,” they stated. As a result, all editions of the game will now launch on December 12, 2025.
The team apologized for the repeated delays, emphasizing their commitment to delivering a game that meets the community’s expectations. They reassured fans, saying, “Our goal has always been to deliver the game that you deserve, and we’re almost there. Thank you again for standing by us.”
Reports from June highlighted the developers’ efforts in tracking down the actor who portrayed future war John Connor in 1991 to include his likeness in the game. Additionally, it was revealed why Arnold Schwarzenegger is not featured.
