The MongolZ Announce Controlez as Stand-In for IEM Chengdu 2025

The MongolZ, a prominent name in the esports arena, has made a strategic change to its lineup just in time for the upcoming IEM Chengdu 2025. With the tournament set to run from November 3rd to 9th, the team has enlisted the expertise of Unudelger ‘controlez’ Baasanjargal as a stand-in, stirring excitement among fans and analysts alike.

Roster Shake-Up Ahead of IEM Chengdu

Controlez’s inclusion follows the unexpected benching of Azbayar ‘Senzu’ Munkhbold on October 22nd. Reports suggest that the decision to bring in controlez marks the first alteration to The MongolZ’s roster in over two years. This move is especially significant as The MongolZ recently became the first Mongolian team to reach the pinnacle of the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) after a series of impressive performances.

Controlez is no stranger to high-level competition, having recently competed for Chinggis Warriors, where he played a crucial role in the team’s dynamics. His previous stint with The MongolZ and his partnership with Erdenedalai ‘maaRaa’ Bayanbat, the current coach, add layers of familiarity and synergy to his return.

A Year of Milestones for The MongolZ

2025 has been a landmark year for The MongolZ, solidifying their status as one of the elite Counter-Strike 2 teams globally. Despite missing out on the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 22, they secured a victory at the Esports World Cup and runner-up positions at BLAST Bounty Season 2, FISSURE Playground 2, and BLAST.tv Austin Major. Controlez’s addition is expected to bolster the team’s performance as they gear up to take on HEROIC in their opening match at IEM Chengdu.

With an eye on the future and a committed team, The MongolZ aims to leave a significant mark on the tournament, leveraging controlez’s vast experience to navigate the intense competition.
