NVIDIA’s B30A ‘Blackwell’ Chip: Performance Concerns and Market Avoidance
The ongoing saga between NVIDIA and China continues with no resolution in sight. Recent reports suggested a potential breakthrough for the Blackwell chip, but it seems that the issue stems from Beijing’s preferences rather than external pressures. According to reports, President Trump has indicated that the matter rests between NVIDIA and China, with the US government acting as an intermediary. This situation is further complicated by Beijing’s focus on companies like Huawei instead of NVIDIA.
For months, China has been distancing itself from NVIDIA, largely due to a regulatory probe into H20 AI chips. NVIDIA’s market presence in the region has dwindled to nothing, and the B30A Blackwell chip is facing rejection.
