The Nintendo Switch 2 has been out for about a two months, and it already feels like home for gamers. With so many incredible games already in existence, the console has established a rhythm quickly. With hours of time already on the Switch 2, there are already some absolutely brilliant games worth trying out.

Donkey Kong Bonanza: A Potential Game of the Year
Donkey Kong Bonanza is an amazing effort to make a game. The fervor around this title grew exponentially after the official reveal, and the final product is beyond anything we could’ve imagined.
The game is the perfect blend of what Nintendo has done best for the last 30 or 40 years. Donkey Kong is both goofy and powerful, while Pauline is the ideal companion character. With each successive layer of the game, things get more exciting as exploring always pays off meaningfully.
The title never grows tiring. Whether digging holes or exploring areas, even after minutes of nothing, you will get something. Apart from being one of the top Switch 2 games around, Donkey Kong Bonanza may just be one of Nintendo’s best games yet. Furthermore, it is also thought to have the most appealing box art of the current Switch 2 titles.

Mario Kart World: The Perfect Launch Title
You should not compare Mario Kart World to previous games of the franchise but rather take it on its own merits. The game is best when we are actually playing it and not really worrying about what it has to offer – the tracks, the characters and the game mechanics.
Although not likely to win Game of the Year, Mario Kart World features a soundtrack that may just be the best video game soundtrack of the year—they’ve certainly earned it! Playing the game is fun and all the characters are from the Mario franchise but it is well done.
Despite some wishing for more Nintendo characters beyond the Mario universe, Mario Kart World proved to be the perfect launch game for the Switch 2.
Cyberpunk: A New Perspective on Night City
Playing Cyberpunk on Switch 2 gives me a newfound appreciation for this incredible game. Having a handheld experience while exploring Night City and enjoying one of gaming’s best stories provides a sense of novelty.
For dedicated handheld gamers, being able to enjoy this universe while on the go becomes a pretty special experience. This is only possible thanks to the technical capabilities of the Switch 2, and not the original Switch.
Having this title on a Nintendo console, let alone one that can be played in handheld mode, is truly remarkable and a wonderful opportunity for players.

Tears of the Kingdom: A New Perspective
Tears of the Kingdom on Switch 2 changed many players’ opinions on the game. Breath of the Wild was at first the much better game with the moment you first step into the Great Plateau and see Hyrule all around you. But the better version on Switch 2 may actually be superior.
The sense of wonder, the ability to explore new areas, the ingenuity of gameplay and impressive boss fights all get an extra edge on the next-gen hardware. The dark side and brilliant presentation matched in a way that never has before.
Although there were doubts about whether Switch games should come to Switch 2, this enhanced version proves itself completely and is better than ever.
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster – An Unexpected Gem
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster Came from Left Field, Surprising Many Who Ignored It. The former 3DS title which costs only $40 gives a huge bang for your buck if you enjoy RPGs.
The immersive nature of the game is hard to resist and captures players’ interest right from the start. Players either build turns or spend multiple actions at once in an interesting mechanic which is brave or default.
Though a remaster likely escaped notice because of its digital only release, this game provides a nearly perfect RPG experience that is well worth engaging with nonetheless if this is your kind of thing.

Yakuza Zero: The Perfect Entry Point
Yakuza Zero is another great game for Switch 2 that some players might have missed. We don’t know if it didn’t get the attention it deserved because it was released in digital format or other platforms have had it for years. But this Director’s Cut version definitely deserves your attention.
For players who have yet to play any Yakuza game, playing Yakuza 0 which is the first game in the chronology, is a good start. The two main characters in the game are one of the most interesting in the series. Moreover, the game seems to be a beat-em-up game on the surface level but offers much more than that.
The narration in the game is great, while there are also a lot of side activities for players to enjoy without having to playing the main story. Not only does it demonstrate the Switch 2’s technical capabilities, it also shows off some impressive graphics.
Fantasy Life Eye: The Underappreciated Masterpiece
The release of Fantasy Life Eye: The Girl Who Steals Time was timed just before the launch of the Switch 2 but received an enhanced version for the new console. This game should get the consideration of Game of the Year but probably won’t at the major awards.
The game revolves around rebuilding a ruined island by travelling to the past and present, guided by an archaeologist and a dragon fossil. Gaming experience becomes diverse as players can switch between life classes to overcome diverse challenges.
This game takes inspiration from Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Zelda, and old-time Dragon Quest – and manages to pull everything off equally well. The Switch 2’s portable abilities mean this is the best way to play this excellent game.

No Man’s Sky, Hogwarts Legacy, and Kitsu Gami: The Path of the Goddess are some more great games for the Switch 2. While all the aforementioned games are great experiences on the new hardware, the titles above are the true must-plays that best exemplify what the Switch 2 has to offer.
