In Stardew Valley, the Mill is a vital farm building that transforms basic resources into valuable ingredients, making it a game-changer for farmers. By processing items like wheat, beets, and unmilled rice, players can create flour, sugar, and rice, respectively, boosting their farm’s productivity and profitability.
Building the Mill
To add a Mill to the farm, players need to visit Robin at the Carpenter’s Shop. The construction requires 2,500 gold, 50 stones, 150 wood, and 4 cloth. Once these materials and payment are provided, Robin will complete the Mill in two days, ready for players to start processing their crops.
How to Operate the Mill
Using the Mill is straightforward. Players simply interact with it to load ingredients. The Mill accepts wheat, beets, and unmilled rice, and there’s no cap on how much can be processed at once. Players can even mix different items in a single batch. Regardless of the quantity or combination, the Mill takes one day to produce the results.
Processing Outputs and Storage
The Mill’s output depends on the input: one wheat yields one flour, one unmilled rice produces one rice, and one beet generates three sugars. Processed items appear in a storage box to the right of the Mill, which can hold up to 36 items. Players can leave goods in the box indefinitely, and more will be added with each milling session. However, if the storage fills up, any additional processed items will be lost, so regular collection is advised to avoid waste.
