Esports fans have a new roster to keep an eye on as Team Spirit announces the launch of its first Dota 2 academy team. This move marks an exciting expansion for the organization, which has been a formidable presence in the esports world. Introducing the Team Spirit Dota 2 Academy
Team Spirit’s newly formed academy team will be coached by Danil ‘MeTTpuM’ Gilev, with management by Semyon ‘Paradise’ Volkov, and analysis provided by Bakuri ‘baki_1014’ Mortshulava. This initiative adds another layer to Team Spirit’s already impressive portfolio, which includes CS2 and ML:BB projects. As the organization stated, the decision to include Dota 2 was a natural progression given their history with the game.
The new Dota 2 academy roster includes Vladislav ‘rubikon155’ Gaideu, Arsentii ‘86’ Babiuk, Rusline ‘SunshineRR’ Lakhonia, Aidar ‘Aidar’ Nurgalin, and Danil ‘Kyford’ Gorbachev. This fresh team hopes to follow in the footsteps of Team Spirit’s past successes, such as the iconic 2021 victory at The International 10.
Team Spirit in 2025
In 2025, Team Spirit’s main roster faced a season of ups and downs. Among their achievements was a major victory at DreamLeague Season 25, where they triumphed over Tundra Esports in a close 3-2 match, securing a $250,000 prize. They further cemented their prowess with a commanding 3-0 win at the Esports World Cup’s Dota 2 tournament against Team Falcons, earning a $1 million prize.
However, their journey at The International 2025 was cut short after a challenging face-off with Team Falcons that led to an early elimination. They finished fifth in the FISSURE Playground 2 event, once again falling to Team Falcons in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.
