As the excitement for the end of the year grows, Riot Games has unveiled the highly-anticipated 2025 VCT Awards, set to take place on December 7th. This celebration will recognize the top performers from the VALORANT Champions Tour across multiple regions, including the Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China. The event is a testament to the remarkable achievements within the competitive VALORANT scene throughout the 2025 season.
The Grand Celebration of VALORANT Excellence
The 2025 VCT Awards intends to highlight the stellar performances of players and organizations, bringing together a diverse panel of judges that includes the VALORANT Champions Tour broadcast team and third-party media, as well as a pro player, coach, and streamer from each participating organization. Team representatives, however, were prohibited from voting for their own members, ensuring a fair and unbiased selection process. Every VCT International League will award ten honors, with VCT China presenting eight categories.
Award Categories and Regional Highlights
Contenders have been assessed on their impressive displays across several International League events, with role-specific awards restricted to the agent roles players utilized most frequently in 2025. The awards encompass a variety of categories, including Grand Finals MVP, Player of the Year, Duelist of the Year, and more. These honors are distributed across all regions, with the list of awards being:
- Grand Finals MVP
- Player of the Year
- Duelist of the Year
- Sentinel of the Year
- Controller of the Year
- Initiator of the Year
- IGL of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Most Improved Player of the Year (Not applicable for VCT China)
- Rookie of the Year (Not applicable for VCT China)
In terms of past performances, Americas’ G2 Esports secured three awards in 2024 and aims for similar accolades this year. Meanwhile, EMEA’s Heretics, having dominated last season with six out of seven awards, may see new talent emerge after a challenging 2025 season. In the Pacific, Gen.G Esports previously swept the awards, but a more competitive distribution is anticipated this year. In the Chinese region, EDward Gaming’s prior dominance might be challenged by rising teams such as Dragon Ranger Gaming and Bilibili Gaming.
