The debut of Intel’s W890 motherboard, crafted for the upcoming Granite Rapids Workstation “Xeon” CPU line, has been revealed. This marks a new chapter in Intel’s advancements in workstation technology, setting the stage for a series of powerhouse CPUs.
Introducing ADLINK’s ISB-W890 Motherboard
Following recent platform details, a glimpse of the W890 motherboard promises robust support for Intel’s Granite Rapids Xeon CPUs. The motherboard, ISB-W890 by ADLINK, is tailored for AXE servers and is integrated with the capabilities to support 6th Gen Intel Xeon Granite Rapids CPUs. Highlighted features include a Standard CEB form factor (12” x 10.5”), 4x Channel DDR5 configurations with 8 DDR5 RDIMM slots, and a diverse range of PCIe configurations.

The LGA 4710-2 socket empowers this motherboard, utilized in powering Xeon 6700P and Xeon 6700E processors. Notably, the W890 chipset will accommodate Xeon workstation chips with up to 86 cores, pointing towards a prospective CES 2026 launch. The motherboard supports OC on select “X” series Xeon 600 “Granite Rapids-WS” chips, catering to diverse processing needs.

The ISB-W890 accommodates up to 128 GB memory capacity with speeds reaching 6400 MT/s. For expansion, the motherboard splits into Expert Stream offering up to 128 PCIe lanes and Mainstream Stream with up to 80 PCIe lanes.
