UPERFECT UMax 24 Portable Monitor Review: Perfect for Gaming and Work

Discovering an intriguing portable monitor that’s larger than typical, the UMax 24 captivates attention. It’s unconventional for a travel-friendly display, yet it provides versatility for both travel and regular desktop use. Having reviewed several UPERFECT monitors, including the Dual-Stack UStation Delta Max, which ranks highly for work and gaming, I was eager to explore if the UMax 24 could replace my traditional 24-inch monitor. Build Quality

With a robust metal frame, the UMax 24 exudes a premium feel, though not quite matching the ruggedness of the UStation Delta Max. It maintains a solid build with no flimsy parts in sight. A dedicated kickstand allows for a range of tilting options without wobble, though height and rotation adjustments require additional VESA support. The bezels are fairly slim, with the bottom edge slightly thicker.

Connectivity is straightforward with three ports: 1x Mini HDMI and 2x USB Type-C ports. One Type-C port powers the monitor, while the other enables touch functionality when connected to a PC. The Mini HDMI serves for display purposes, and the monitor automatically detects and displays your content.

Image Quality and Features

The UMax 24’s 1440p resolution offers superior pixel density, ensuring sharper and more vibrant visuals. Its HDR capability enhances details, providing a noticeable improvement over non-HDR monitors. The UMax 24 stands out with its vivid 1440p resolution and HDR compatibility, making it a strong contender for both work and gaming needs.

With 100% sRGB color accuracy, the UMax 24 is a boon for content creators. While the response time of 10ms is higher than typical IPS monitors, it outperforms most portable displays. The monitor’s wide viewing angle is mostly effective, though some visual artifacts occur at certain angles. Backlight bleeding at the top is a noticeable drawback.

Touchscreen functionality greatly enhances productivity, with responsiveness comparable to a smartphone. Offered in both touch and non-touch variants, the additional cost for touch is justified by the convenience it provides.

Gaming on UMax 24

Although the UMax 24 features a slower response time, the difference is minimal for non-competitive gaming. The vivid colors and fluidity make it a delightful experience, even without the fastest response times. For those who aren’t focused solely on competitive gaming, the UMax 24 is a suitable option.
