As of April 7th, French esports organization Team Vitality leads the Valve Regional Standings (VRS). MOUZ, Team Spirit, The MongolZ, and Aurora Gaming—previously known as Eternal Fire—complete the top five positions.
Details on the Austin Major and Its Structure
In addition to confirming the invited participants for the second Major of the Counter-Strike 2 era, tournament organiser BLAST provided an overview of how the regional invitations were distributed.
A total of 32 teams will be competing through three stages of the Major, with the Playoffs set to be held at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Out of those 32, 16 teams have secured direct invitations. Eight of these teams will begin their journey in Stage 2, while the remaining eight have advanced directly to Stage 3. Of these invited teams, ten hail from Europe, five represent the Americas, and one comes from Asia.
MRQ Team Invitations and Format
Beyond the final two stages, the organiser has also disclosed which teams have been invited to participate in the Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQs).
Scheduled from April 14th to 17th, 2025, the MRQs will be held globally. The top 16 teams from this round will earn spots in Stage 1 of the Major. The distribution of available slots includes six for Europe, six for the Americas, and four for Asia.
Before releasing the list of invited teams for the Major and MRQs, BLAST had stated that all 75 MRQ matches would be conducted online.
According to the VRS as of April 7th, PARIVISION ranks lowest among the MRQ teams, holding the 181st position.
