VCT Pacific Stage 1 2025: A Closer Look at Performance and Popularity

The first stage of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025 for the Pacific region has wrapped up, marking a historic achievement for Indonesian esports organization Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ). After weeks of intense competition, RRQ clinched its first major VALORANT title by defeating Gen.G in the Grand Finals.

The tournament featured 12 teams from across the Pacific, competing from March to May with hopes of qualifying for Masters Toronto—VCT’s next international showdown of the year.

Global Interest Despite Viewership Dip

Fans from around the world followed Stage 1 closely, particularly as high-profile teams clashed for limited spots at the upcoming Masters event. According to data from Esports Charts, the Playoffs finale between RRQ and Gen.G reached a peak viewership of 460,073. RRQ triumphed with a 3-1 series score, with both finalists earning their tickets to Masters Toronto. Paper Rex, who placed third, also secured a spot at the event.

While those numbers were impressive, they did reflect a 10% drop compared to Stage 1 of 2024, which recorded a peak of over 509,000 viewers. This slight decline mirrors similar trends in other regions, such as the VCT Americas, where both peak and average viewer numbers have dipped year-over-year.

Still, VCT Pacific Stage 1 stood out as the most-watched among regional VALORANT leagues so far in 2025. It also claimed the third-highest peak viewership overall for the year, trailing only behind Masters Bangkok, which brought in an impressive 1.3 million concurrent viewers.

Road to Masters Toronto and Beyond

Looking ahead, all eyes now shift to Masters Toronto, set to take place from June 6th to 22nd. RRQ, Gen.G, and Paper Rex will be flying the Pacific flag as they compete for their share of a $1 million prize pool and crucial VCT Points—used to determine qualification for the prestigious VCT Champions event at the end of the season.

Currently, T1 leads the Pacific region’s points standings after its victory at Masters Bangkok. The upcoming Masters Toronto will offer seven points to the winning team, raising the stakes even higher as the season intensifies.
