Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2 Delayed to Restore AdMech’s Binaric Language and More Changes

The much-anticipated sequel, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2, is set to encounter a delay. This decision follows feedback from its recent Steam Next Fest demo, urging developers to make key adjustments to enhance the gaming experience.

Addressing Fan Feedback

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios have announced that the turn-based strategy game will now release in spring 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. A prominent concern raised by fans was the change in language for the Adeptus Mechanicus. In the first game, they spoke in a distinctive binaric machine language, which contributed significantly to the game’s dark and mysterious ambiance. The demo, however, featured them speaking in English, much to the dismay of enthusiasts. In response, Bulwark Studios plans to introduce an audio option allowing players to select either the classic “lingua-technis” or the standard human voiceover. Praise the Omnissiah!

Gameplay Enhancements

Besides language options, the developers are enhancing movement systems by incorporating a setting that allows the automatic selection of the Move action during unit cycling. This aims to create a smoother and more efficient tactical flow. Furthermore, the team is dedicated to resolving performance issues identified during the demo period, ensuring that the sequel aligns with both community expectations and the developers’ high standards.

New Features and Storyline

In Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2, players can fully immerse themselves in campaigns as either the Necrons or the Adeptus Mechanicus. The gameplay involves managing garrisons, assembling forces, and maneuvering through novel environmental mechanics. These features enable players to strategically use terrain for cover or destruction. The narrative, crafted by Black Library author Ben Counter, is complemented by the audio design of composer Guillaume David. Players will also face narrative choices that influence the war’s outcome, with The Leagues of Votann emerging as a non-playable threat throughout the game.
